Eshitha (President) started the meeting and welcomed all returning and new members. She started the meeting like the last, giving a brief overview of what Key Club is, along with our goals of improving our community through volunteering. She also cited the benefits of officer positions, making new friends, college applications, and our top 20 position in the T-O District. Athira (Vice President) introduced herself and spoke on the changes in volunteering events due to COVID-19. She also reminded members that the hours requirement has been waived, although you still must have 100 service hours by senior year to receive a cord. Marium (Treasurer) told members that membership applications could be found on the website and that they are due by October 9th. The $20 membership fee is required with an optional $15 shirt fee paid through School Cash. Vincent (Sprit Chair) introduced the design for the new shirts, crediting it to Derek (Historian). He noted details on the shirt, mentioning the Up! themed illustrations and encouraged members to buy the shirt. Amani (Editor) advised members to join the Remind for upcoming information about events and Key Club functions. Mariana (Events Coordinator) introduced our first event: the Christ Rose Foundation Community Food Fair, where members would help distribute groceries to the community. He instructed members to download the app and join our Key Club group, which would donate money for walking certain distances. Sophia (Sophomore Rep) introduced the UNICEF Quiz, a quick quiz to unlock a $2 donation to UNICEF. Andrew showed members how to access membership forms and important links on the website. After, he introduced Amani’s newsletters for September. Amani spoke on her newsletter for September, saying that she compiled significant events and information about our club into a creative, Halloween themed newsletter. She encouraged members to take a look, showing a preview on the slides. Vincent spoke on the upcoming Freshman Rep application deadline on October 20. He said that a short interview was necessary, saying that the sign-up link would be available by next meeting. Also, members were told not to be discouraged by the interview! We are all very nice. Athira said to follow us on social media for .5 hours, then showed the sign out code for members to scan. Before ending the meeting, Eshitha said that we would have a guest speaker from the Thirst Project next meeting. Staying for her presentation would give members hours!
